K-lite Codec Pack For Mac Free Download
Genuine K-Lite files always have the exact same filename, size and hashes as indicated above. Do not install downloaded files that have different values.
The last version that is compatible with Windows XP SP3 is version 13.8.5, which can be downloaded HERE.
Download links for old versions of the K-Lite Codec Pack can be found HERE.
HDR Video Playback
To play such videos you need to use the included MPC-HC player and select Madvr as the video renderer. Madvr will automatically send the HDR metadata to your TV when it is HDR capable. Otherwise it will convert the video to SDR so you can watch it (with proper colors) on a normal monitor/TV.
You can select Madvr here:
MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > Video Renderer
Or during installation of the codec pack.
MPC-HC options > Playback > Output > Video Renderer
Or during installation of the codec pack.
Note: currently only HDR10 format is supported. Not Dolby Vision.
3D Video
The codec pack contains a plugin for decoding H.264 MVC 3D Video. Included in Full/Mega edition only, for this Standard edition it is available separately HERE. To properly watch such videos you should use the included MPC-HC player and select Madvr as the video renderer. Outputting 3D video to your monitor/TV requires Windows 8.x/10 (or Windows 7 with a modern NVIDIA GPU).
Note: playback of SBS (side-by-side) and Top/Bottom 3D video does not have the above requirements. Such videos are actually encoded as 2D video. Your TV should have an option to turn this into 3D.
In case of NVIDIA you must use driver version 418.xx or older. 3D support was removed in newer versions.
Blu-ray
MPC-HC is capable of playing Blu-ray discs. There are just two limitations:
1) It doesn't support Blu-ray menus. It automatically plays the longest title on the disc. Other titles can be accessed through the Navigate menu of the player.
2) The disc must be decrypted using an external tool. For example AnyDVD HD or Passkey Lite.

Are you having problems playing numerous audio and video formats? The most common reason for this is that your operating system does not support those formats. Do not let this simple problem take away a nice movie experience from you. You can download codec packs. They are downloadable pieces of software that can encode and decode videos. Codec packs can do this by installing various codecs all at the same time, saving you the hassle of finding each code one by one.
What to look for in a Codec Pack
There are lots of codec packs out there. However, not all codec packs are user-friendly. Rather than help you out, they can cause inconvenience such as slowing down Windows. Some users even claim to struggle with having to make it work along with other programs. Some codec packs can also be potential breeding ground for adware and spyware.
This is why choosing a codec pack takes a meticulous process. You should choose a codec pack that is user-friendly, computer-friendly, easy to install and is secured. The good thing is, K-Lite Codec Pack lives up to these features.
What is to love about K-Lite Codec Pack
Ease of installation. Installing K-Lite Codec Pack is hassle-free. You need not be an expert to run the installation smoothly. If you love to tinker, however, there are advanced settings you can go over. Just be sure to do it with caution as you might make some mistakes in modifying and hamper the installation process. Users are also directed to a list displaying the software’s content together with information about each of the codecs. The list is displayed before the step-by-step guide to inform users of what they are about to deploy on their systems.
Compatibility. You can run the K-Lite Codec Pack in all Windows XP and its later versions. What is amazing about this software is that it can support playback of almost all file formats out there including but not limited to .AVI, .TS, .WebM, .OGM, .WMV, .MP4, .RMVB, .MOV, .FLV, M2TS., MPEG, .MKV, and .RM . It can also support file formats such as .FLAC, .MKA, .AAC, .3GP, Musepack, .M4A, .MP3, .OGG, Wavpack, .APE, Opus, and .AMR. It works well with DVD and Blu-ray after they have been decrypted.
Adjustable settings. Using a tweaking tool, you can configure your audio and video decoders to achieve an all-out multimedia experience.
